Dambimangari Aboriginal Corporation
The Wanjina-Wunggurr (Native Title) Aboriginal Corporation, commonly known as the Wanjina-Wunggurr PBC or WWPC, holds native title on trust for three distinct Traditional Owner groups across a vast area of the Kimberley region in Western Australia. Together, these native title determinations cover millions of hectares of land and sea, representing one of the most significant native title recognition in Australian history.
Our People and Country
This determination covers approximately 27, 937 square kilometers of land and sea in the coastal regions of the Kimberley. The determination recognises both exclusive and non-exclusive native title rights for the Worrorra/Dambimangari people. This area stretches from Collier Bay and Walcott Inlet in the south, along the coast to Saint George Basin and Hanover Bay, extending inland and including significant island groups.
Our Cultural Connections
We are part of the broader Wanjina-Wunggurr cultural bloc, sharing deep spiritual and familial connections with the Ngarinyin and Uunguu peoples. Together, our land claims helped shape one of the most significant native title recognitions in the Kimberley.
Wanjina-Wunggurr culture is shared by the Ngarinyin, Woddordda, Wunambal and Gaambera people. We all share a unique body of beliefs and cultural practices going back to Lalai, the dreaming when the creator beings Wanjina and Wunggurr helped shape the earth.
Native Title Recognition
In 2011, our rights as Traditional Owners were formally recognised through the Wanjina Wunggurr Dambimangari native title consent determination. The determination was heard at Cone Bay in the Kimberley and covers approximately 27,937 square kilometers of land and sea.
The Wanjina-Wunggurr (Native Title) Aboriginal Corporation, commonly known as the WWPBC, is the Registered Native Title Body Corporate (RNTBC) that holds our native title on trust for the Dambeemangaddee people.
The determination recognises both exclusive and non-exclusive native title rights over our claim area, including the right to live, camp, hunt, fish, and engage in cultural activities across our traditional country.
Our Role
Dambimangari Aboriginal Corporation acts as the agent of the WWPBC in relation to the interests of the Dambeemangaddee people and all activities on our Country. Through our corporation, we manage our traditional lands and waters, protect our cultural heritage, and ensure that our voices are heard in all matters affecting our country.
We continue our ancient responsibility as custodians of Country, ensuring that Dambeemangaddee Country remains healthy and strong for future generations while building sustainable opportunities for our people.

Wanjina Wunggurr Country is not a resource to be managed. It is a living cultural landscape guided by ancestral law and ongoing custodianship. Our responsibility is to protect it. Our commitment is to future generations. Our work continues every day to ensure Country remains strong.
